OrthoPediatrics Announces Expanded Distribution for ACL Reconstruction System
Warsaw, Indiana (PRWEB) August 03, 2015 -- For the last several years, OrthoPediatrics has been working with leading pediatric sports medicine surgeons to develop an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Reconstruction System that addresses the needs of high-demand, growing athletes. Since the launch of OP’s ACL Reconstruction System in 2014, the Company’s primary focus has been on a small group of key opinion leaders in an effort to perfect this unique system and ensure the ShieldLocTM and ArmorLinkTM technologies meet the needs of the high-demand patient population.
“With more than a year of follow-up under our belt, we feel confident that this technology can provide surgeons and patients with the best fixation possible, restoration of the ACL to its anatomically correct position, and implant placement that avoids potential disruption of skeletal growth. We are on track to becoming a leader in the ACL market in children’s hospitals, where we already have a strong presence,” said Mark Throdahl, OrthoPediatrics’ CEO.
Given its clinical success with pediatric sports medicine surgeons at prestigious children’s hospitals, OP now aims to expand distribution to surgeons treating high-demand athletes outside children’s hospitals. A large percentage of ACL surgeries are performed by sports medicine surgeons who are not classically trained pediatric orthopedists. OP believes it is important to offer these surgeons and their patients the benefit of what it has learned treating young, high-demand athletes.
OP is now actively seeking partnerships with independent sales reps and distributors who have experience in sports medicine and have access to orthopedic surgeons treating athletes under the age of 18.
