Oscar-Nominated Kathleen Quinlan to be Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award
Oceanside, CA (PRWEB) August 10, 2016 -- Since arriving on the scene in George Lucas's iconic film "American Graffiti," Hollywood stalwart Kathleen Quinlan has taken audiences on a multitude of journeys. From earning a Golden Globe nomination for her role as schizophrenic Deborah Blake in "I Never Promised You a Rose Garden" to her Oscar-nominated role as Marilyn Lovell in "Apollo 13," Quinlan has shown her ability to get fully lost in every character. "Her name has become ubiquitous in the acting world and we would like to recognize Ms. Quinlan for her immense talents in association with North County San Diego, where many of her fans are located," says Oceanside International Film Festival founder Dmitriy Demidov.
Quinlan's latest film, indie drama "ADDicted," is set for its West Coast premiere as part of the Oceanside festival. "ADDicted" examines the exponential rise in diagnoses of ADD/ADHD and the dangerous spike in Adderall usage and abuse. Quinlan plays Kate Dawson, an over-bearing widowed mother running for public office who justifies increasing her son's Adderall dosage to protect both of their careers.
"ADDicted," which recently won the Audience Choice Award at the Kansas City Film Festival, will screen Saturday, August 13 at 3:00 PM at the Sunshine Brooks Theatre. "ADDicted" is the feature film debut of writer/director Dan Jenski and stars Quinlan, Gil Bellows ("Shawshank Redemption"), Lauren Sweetser ("Winter's Bone") and Luke Guldan ("Tailor's Apprentice").
The Oceanside International Film Festival will be presenting Quinlan with its Lifetime Achievement Award during its awards ceremony as part of its Closing Day festivities on Sunday, August 14th at 2:00 PM at the Sunshine Brooks Theatre.
