OSHA Recordkeeping Changes That 360training.com Wants You To Know About
Austin, TX (PRWEB) April 30, 2014 -- New requirements by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) have been proposed to improve workplace safety and health.
The recordkeeping changes can improve programs to reduce workplace hazards and prevent injuries, illnesses and fatalities.
"With the information acquired through this proposed rule, employers, employees, the government and researchers will have better access to data,” says Dr. David Michaels Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health.
The OSHA changes will modify an employer’s obligation to transmit records. Employers will report the data through a secure data collection website.
According to the proposal, establishments with at least 250 employees will be required to submit an OSHA Form 300 on a quarterly basis to the OSHA website provided. While establishments with at least 20 employees will be required to electronically submit an OSHA Summary Form 300A on an annual basis.
If notified by OSHA, certain employers will be required to submit case information on the OSHA 301 incident report. Data from the 300A and 300 forms, except the employee's name, will be available to the public via the same website.
