OTO Development Project Wins 2014 Marriott Design Excellence Award
Spartanburg, SC (PRWEB) June 29, 2014 -- OTO Development is pleased to announce the Fairfield Inn & Suites New York Midtown Manhattan/Penn Station has earned Marriott’s Design Excellence award for the Best Custom Project. Every 18 months at the LINK conference, Marriott identifies architectural projects which they believe deserve to be recognized for design excellence. The award was presented during the recent LINK Conference held at the JW Marriott in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The Design Excellence awards are bestowed upon the owners of architectural projects which exceed the guidelines set forth by Marriott’s Architecture & Construction group in terms of being a custom unique, creative, and innovative project. The Fairfield Inn & Suites New York Midtown Manhattan/Penn Station received the Best Custom Project award. The Fairfield Inn & Suites New York Midtown Manhattan/Penn Station was selected Marriott’s best overall custom CFRST (Courtyard, Fairfield Inn, Residence Inn, SpringHill Suites and TownePlace Suites) project developed between July 1, 2012 and December 31, 2013.
“OTO purchased a hotel site, which had completed design for a Cambria and successfully redesigned it to be a custom Fairfield Inn & Suites,” said Design Director at Marriott International Marisa Scinto. “Being in midtown Manhattan in New York City, space is usually a challenge; however, OTO provided little resistances to A&C’s request for the preferred sizes of the public areas. They even decided against A&C recommendation to reduce the guest room sizes to be similar to prototype due to the ideal targeted guest and preferred ADR. The public areas and guest rooms incorporated a custom design layout and interior finishes which complement their urban location.”
