Melbourne, Australia (PRWEB) April 21, 2015 -- Recent business figures indicate an increase in the number of over-50s launching their own business as they prefer to invest their superannuation into exciting new business ventures rather than retire from the workforce.
The level of self-employment in this age group is approximately one in five, much higher than in other age groups. While this age group of business entrepreneurs have decades of insight into the business world, they don’t always know the best strategies for harnessing the Internet to increase revenue and expand their marketing reach.
Older entrepreneurs can consolidate their innovative ideas and business experience with the latest marketing and digital strategies through a new “olderpreneur” workshop run by 13 Beach Marketing in Melbourne and Geelong.
The workshop, How to become an entrepreneur when you are over 50, is run by online marketing expert Nigel Rawlins and shows older entrepreneurs how to promote their business and handle the financial and marketing aspects of entrepreneurship.
The Melbourne session will be held at the NAB Village Docklands on April 23, starting at 9.30am goo.gl/03yVC7, the Geelong session at the NAB Business Centre Geelong Friday May 8, starting 9.30am goo.gl/NDZOuB
Nigel says his workshop is based on a unique business model helping “olderpreneurs” save time and money as they establish their business, differentiate from the competition and create a self-sustaining customer base online.
“It starts with the customer and client, and how to connect with them through the website,” Nigel says. “This is where they can add additional content to appeal to their target customer, then use social media to connect further and create a relationship.”
Director of Product Safety Solutions, Gail Greatorex said that the “olderpreneurs” business model has become instrumental in many aspects of her small business, particularly marketing.
“Nigel is very knowledgable and thoughtful in recommending strategies to build a client base and gain momentum,” Ms Greatorex said.
“This includes advising on what’s worth spending money on, and what isn’t.”
