Over, Under, and Above: All Styles of MR Direct Porcelain Basins Are Now cUPC Certified

Toledo, Ohio (PRWEB) November 28, 2014 -- MR Direct is proud to announce the completion of the first round of testing of its porcelain line of sinks by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, Research and Testing Inc. (IAPMO R&T). Fifteen models, including all ten undermount models, all three overmount models, and two of the more popular vessel models, are now certified to have met the requirements of the Uniform Plumbing Code. The remainder are soon to be approved.

All MR Direct porcelain sinks, are created of vitreous China, the superior grade ceramic in the industry. The triple glazing and triple firing involved in making vitreous China results in the most durable, smooth, and stain-resistant finish available. Some of the newly-approved models are available in a black finish, but all offer a choice of white or beige.

The UPC letters are an acronym for the “Uniform Plumbing Code”. This code is a listing of particular specifications and guidelines set forth by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) which is designed to assure that products are safe for the consumer and the environment by meeting all established national and international criteria. The “c” in cUPC means that the product meets the Canadian as well as the American plumbing standards.

Certification, which gives the manufacturer the right to display the cUPC logo with its product, is earned or denied through a stringent testing process. Products which are already on market shelves, and others removed from company stock, are inspected and tested in the IAPMO R&T lab.

Bottom line, the cUPC stamp is designed to signify that the product is safe and sanitary. MR Direct is extremely proud to note that more than fifty of its stainless steel, and now fifteen of its porcelain sinks have already attained cUPC certification; while the remainder are still being evaluated in the test center.
