OvernightPrints.com is Leading Environmentally Conscientious Online Printer
Las Vegas (PRWEB) April 21, 2017 -- Web-to-print ecommerce company Overnight Prints, Inc., makes it a top priority to operate as an environmentally conscientious online printer. Sustainable foresting and special low waste printing presses combined with a waterless printing technique offer business consumers an eco-friendly zero VOC option for print marketing needs.
“Overnight Prints is proud to be a printing company that is 100 percent committed to making our planet a greener place to live,” said Brett Heap, CEO, Overnight Prints. “The materials required to be environmentally responsible are more expensive, but we made that commitment over a decade ago and we will continue to do so. Our use of paper and specialty printing methods not only provide a higher quality product for our customers, but also help save the environment.”
As part of its corporate social responsibility initiative, Overnight Prints invests in renewable paper supplies and sustainable practices by partnering with eco-friendly vendors, cutting down on VOC emissions and minimizing paper waste. Certified renewable paper is supplied to its bi-coastal facilities in the U.S. and Europe.
Overnightprints.com works closely with member companies of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), a fully independent organization dedicated to sustainable forest management, to provide 100 percent post-consumer recycled paper. Its largest paper suppliers – Veritiv and Spicers Paper, a Central National-Gottesman Inc. company – are both certified under SFI as well as the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes, both non-profit, non-governmental organizations that promote responsibly managed forests through independent third party certification.
In addition to its specially milled paper, Overnightprints.com is also the largest operator of waterless printing in North America. Waterless printing, which uses plant-based oils in place of water, is highly efficient for short-run printing. The temperature-controlled process produces high-density, saturated color with less dot gain much quicker than conventional lithographic methods. This not only reduces the number of make-ready sheets, but also eliminates any toxic fountain solution.
The use of organic ink and natural solvents at its Louisville, Ky., printing plant make Overnight Prints among the lowest emitting manufacturers in the surrounding area of Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana.
In Europe, Overnight Prints’ printing plant furthers its environmental agenda by generating 60 percent of energy requirements from a rooftop solar power system. To help consume even less energy, its printing presses reduce ink transfers from 15 rollers to only one, reducing the average paper waste of a printing job from over 100 sheets to less than 10. Additionally, the majority of packaging materials used at the facility are recyclable.
