Pacific Prime Raises Over $16k for Movember Charity
(PRWEB) December 09, 2013 -- Pacific Prime, one of the world's leading health insurance advisers, has successfully raised HKD $16,300 for the Movember charity campaign.
For the month of November, several participants from Pacific Prime grew mustaches and raised funds in order to support research and raise awareness of testicular cancer and various other illnesses. The team of participants collectively raised $8,150, and the company matched this amount with an additional $8,150 donation.
Movember is a worldwide charity that originated in Australia with the goal of “changing the face of men's health”. The charity aims to increase early detection, diagnosis and treatment of testicular cancer and to lower the stigma of mental illness and depression.
Both men and women at Pacific Prime took part in the charity, either by growing their mustaches or by simply spreading awareness of the campaign to friends and family to raise as much money as possible for the charity. It was set out from the start that Pacific Prime would match the total raised by all participants on the team as well.
There are several reasons why Pacific Prime chose to support the Movember charity specifically. The Movember organization practices complete transparency and accountability of all the funds raised. The official website explains exactly where the funds are being used, which separates the organization from many of other cancer charities that unfortunately keep a high percentage of funds for themselves.
Movember is also an effective way to open up a conservation that might not otherwise happen. A mustache is an instant topic of conversation!
The folks at Pacific Prime are committed to the health and well-being of people all around the world. Pacific Prime is proud to have participated in this event and looks forward to participating next year as well.
