PacStar® and Information Security Corporation (ISC) Announce Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) Collaboration at the 2016 Information Assurance Symposium
Portland, Ore., Oak Park, IL. (PRWEB) August 09, 2016 -- PacStar, a leading developer and supplier of advanced communications solutions for commercial, industrial and defense markets, and ISC, a leading developer of public key cryptography-based data security products, are introducing their collaboration to ease and accelerate the adoption of NSA CSfC compliant solutions.
The collaboration will result in the integration of ISC’s CertAgent® certificate authority into PacStar 400-Series modular ruggedized networking components – creating complete tactical and deployable communications systems capable of meeting the stringent NSA CSfC requirements for the transmission of classified information. ISC Cert Agent will also be integrated with PacStar IQ-Core® Software, an intuitive management software platform, enabling the configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of complete PKI-based solutions under a single graphic user interface.
CertAgent 7.0 is a self-contained and easy-to-use Certificate Authority (CA) that allows organizations to issue, manage and revoke X.509 “Digital Certificates” for use in PKI systems, and meets NSA CSfC requirements for use in systems transmitting classified information. CertAgent has been extensively deployed in government agencies at scale and is the only CA on the NSA CSfC program approved “Components List”. Currently, it is the only CA option for organizations looking to take advantage of all the CSfC program has to offer.
PacStar’s 400-Series ruggedized communications modules and IQ-Core Software are designed to host and manage a variety of CSfC-compliant technologies, and have a proven track record in demanding tactical programs across the U.S. DoD. With capabilities specifically designed to automate and simplify the deployment of CSfC-compliant networking systems in the field and in network teleports, IQ-Core Software’s integration with CertAgent will provide additional ease-of-use for provisioning and renewal of digital certificates required to successfully operate VPN and TLS-based solutions.
“It is critical for communications specialists to have a reliable, integrated way to manage complex CSfC solutions, and by integrating IQ-Core Software with CertAgent, we are able to deliver the optimized experience our warfighters need,” said Peggy Miller, chief executive officer of PacStar. “This collaboration means we are able to offer a complete integrated CSfC solution to our customers.”
“We’re excited to deliver the benefits of CertAgent to the tactical and edge communities by hosting the solution on the PacStar 400-Series and providing a powerful API that PacStar is able to use,” said Thomas Venn, president and co-founder of ISC. “PacStar’s technology enables us to meet the needs of tactical markets in ways we could not do ourselves.”
Visit both PacStar and ISC at the Information Assurance Symposium in Washington, D.C. on August 16 to 18, 2016 at booth #525 and see why the combination of products and technologies offers the best way for tactical programs to deploy PKI for CSfC requirements.
