(PRWEB) January 23, 2014 -- Interior designer Nicole Arnold, the new president of the Dallas-Ft. Worth chapter of the Interior Design Society, predicts that the popularity of using customized furniture finishes in home remodeling will continue in 2014. Many furniture manufacturers now provide multiple finishing choices as “standard options” for their product lines rather than the previously customary one or two finishes. This has lowered the cost for interior design by cutting down the need for custom-made and custom-finished pieces.
“The painted and customized furniture finish trend is going stronger than ever,” exudes Arnold, the president of Nicole Arnold Interiors in Carrollton, Tx. “Painted finishes on furniture are available in most lines now, which opens up hundreds of possibilities when creating the perfect design. A unique, custom painted piece or two in a room's decor is a must!”
Arnold says that companies such as Drexel Heritage and Vanguard have beautiful, broad ranges of finishes in their paint palettes. Additionally, Vanguard lets you specify colors from major paint manufacturers such as Pratt & Lambert, further expanding the finishing choices.
“It's an easy way to pop color into a room in a large or small way, integrate it on exactly the piece desired and be able to reinterpret a furniture frame in multiple ways to keep it feeling fresh and unique,” she continues. “It's also more affordable now than in the past. Colored paint finishes used to be an upgrade in most lines a year or two ago when they were first making their debut; now they're standard in most manufacturer’s lines.”
Arnold is starting 2014 with a bang. Last month she was named president of the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the Interior Design Society (IDS). IDS is a national organization with more than 4,000 members and one of the country's largest design organizations. It is dedicated to serving the residential interior design industry. She has been a member for the last five years and served as vice-president in 2013.
Her firm, Nicole Arnold Interiors, has also upgraded its website for 2014. As 30% of site visitors are coming from mobile devices, the website was made fully responsive so that it automatically fits the screen of any smart phone, tablet or device that is used to access it. The site also contains a portfolio showing over 110 high-quality images of Nicole’s various interior design projects which can now be viewed easily on any device.
“2014 is going to be a great year for design. The economy is stronger than ever, new home purchases are on the rise and customers are eager to update and improve their interiors. I look forward to attending the April market in High Point at which I fully expect to see several “new trends” revealed. I also look forward to using these new ideas to help my clients achieve the look and feel they want for their homes or offices,” concluded Arnold.
