Paladin Data Systems Announces City of Port Orchard, WA as Newest SMARTGov Customer
Poulsbo, WA (PRWEB) September 17, 2014 -- Paladin Data Systems Corporation announced the City of Port Orchard, Washington today as its newest customer for SMARTGov, Paladin’s community development software that manages the full lifecycle of any permit, inspection, license, or code enforcement action for jurisdictions.
The city will be transitioning from Interlocking software to the cloud based features of SMARTGov to track all aspects of zoning and codes including permit issuance, inspections, and code enforcement, and all recurring licenses.
“It is very gratifying that our Paladin team was able to recover the City’s failed server with temporary, stop gap hardware. Now using SMARTGov in the cloud this type of server issue will be a thing of the past for Port Orchard. Plus the City will have newly configuration automation rules designed specifically for their business processes and the citizens of Port Orchard. I am excited to see this final solution go-live,” said Jon Byrd Paladin Sales Executive
The City of Port Orchard lost access to public works, building and planning permitting software when its server failed. Paladin was able to loan the city a 10-year-old server when their server went offline and was not able to be repaired.
“The City of Port Orchard is eagerly awaiting the roll out of its new SMARTGov permitting system. It is expected that this system will streamline the city’s permit review and issuance process and will lead to an improved customer experience, especially once the SMARTGov public portal goes live for the City (likely in 2016). The web portal will eventually allow applicants to track their permits as they move through the review process and will allow the public to use a mapping tool to find information about current and pending project,” said Nick Bond, City of Port Orchard.
Port Orchard is located on the Sinclair Inlet of the Puget Sound in Washington State. The City of Port Orchard, originally the Town of Sidney was incorporated in 1890. With a population of 10,400 residents Port Orchard is the County seat for Kitsap County, with a countywide population of approximately 230,000.
