Palo Alto Software CEO Sabrina Parsons Joins Influential U.S. Women at the White House’s First-Ever United State of Women Summit
EUGENE, Oregon (PRWEB) June 13, 2016 -- Palo Alto Software, the world leader in small business planning and financial management software, today announced that chief executive officer Sabrina Parsons will be participating in the first-ever United State of Women Summit at the White House in Washington D.C. on June 14. The United State of Women, hosted by first lady Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey, with support from women leaders such Cecile Richards, Tina Fey, Tory Burch and Meryl Streep, brings together women and girls from all around the world to celebrate women’s empowerment and to collaborate around the movement towards gender equality.
“Women are opening more than 1,000 new businesses daily, and women-owned businesses are generating $1.6 trillion in revenue yearly – this is clearly a significant signal that we are better positioned than ever to contribute to our local and national economies, to job growth, and innovation. But there is still a lot of work to be done,” said Parsons. “As a female entrepreneur myself, I’m excited to collaborate with other bright minds to discuss how we can harness the tools and resources available to us and build a better future for all of us.”
Nominated to attend by the Oregon chapter of Main Street Alliance, a national network of state-based small business coalitions, Parsons will engage and speak with attending women around Economic Development, Health and Wellness, Educational Opportunity, Violence Against Women, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Leadership and Civic Engagement.
Parsons, a renowned small business expert, has served as CEO of Palo Alto Software since 2007. Prior to that, she led the company’s marketing communications and business development. Parsons has published articles in several notable publications including Forbes, Inc., and The Huffington Post, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of The Oregon Community Foundation, and a board member on the Regional Accelerator Innovation Network (RAIN) and the Princeton Entrepreneurs’ Network.
Parsons is an active supporter of women in the workplace and has spoken and written about how women can advance, lead, and be successful in business and politics. She advocates leading ideas around paid time off, workplace flexibility and a new paradigm for working women.
Convened by the White House, The United State of Women aims to ally women from all walks of life to celebrate gender equality achievements, but also focus on action moving forward.
