Palo Alto Software Offers Key Insights Around Business Planning at Association of Women's Business Centers Conference
MILWAUKEE AND EUGENE, Ore. (PRWEB) September 12, 2016 -- Palo Alto Software, the world leader in small business planning and financial management software and creator of LivePlan, today announced that Josh Felges, Academic and Government Channel Sales Director, will be attending the Association of Women’s Business Center’s (AWBC) 2016 Conference to participate in a session titled, “Business Planning with LivePlan and Lean Start-Up.” The discussion will be hosted by Sharon Miller, the CEO of the San Francisco-based Women’s Business Center’s (WBC) Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center, which will discuss with other experts about creating a business program, and the impact of lean start-up. The session will take place in the Gilpatrick Room, on September 14, at 11:15 a.m., at the Hyatt Regency in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
“Small businesses need to plan - it is the foundation of every successful business. And your plan doesn’t have to be time consuming, it simply needs to give you map, with focus and goals to reach,” said Sabrina Parsons, CEO of Palo Alto Software. “We’re proud to support and work with AWBC who works hard to help small businesses succeed, and educate small business owners on how they can get started with their own plans.”
Statistically speaking, only half of the businesses that start today will be around in five years, which is why business planning - including forecasting - is so important to the health of a small business. And to encourage healthy business planning practices, Palo Alto Software will also be launching an official in-kind donation that will provide WBC counselors nationwide access to LivePlan for themselves, in addition to free training and certification programs. The LivePlan team has also developed new administrative access that better suits the WBC approach to helping small businesses succeed.
“The first question we always ask business owners is: where is your business plan? At Wisconsin Women's Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC), we encourage every business owner to not only create a plan, but to review and adjust it every three months to keep up with the speed of business,” said Amber Miller, MBA, MHEA, Regional Project Director for WWBIC, an economic development corporation providing quality business education, access to fair and responsible capital and one-on-one small business consulting for entrepreneurs. “As a business owner, if you don’t know what your break even is, you could be losing out on revenue and customers. Easy to use tools, like LivePlan, help adjust business plans without needing to recreate it from scratch, and has helped to empower our chapters, and the businesses they serve.”
The AWBC works to secure economic justice and entrepreneurial opportunities for women by supporting and sustaining a national network of more than 100 Women’s Business Centers (WBC). WBCs help women succeed in business by providing training, mentoring, business development and financing opportunities to over 140,000 women entrepreneurs each year.
“Women’s Business Centers have been serving women-owned businesses for nearly three decades, providing education, tools and resources and strategic counsel to women through the business planning process,” said Antonella Pianalto, Association of Women’s Business Centers President and CEO. “AWBC is excited to be partnering with Palo Alto Software to provide valuable planning tools for the Women Business Centers to help women grow successful businesses.”
