Parents Magazine Names San Antonio Zoo One of the Top Kid-Friendly Zoos in the U.S.
San Antonio, Texas (PRWEB) September 02, 2016 -- Parents Magazine has named the San Antonio Zoo one of the top zoos for kids in the U.S. In fact, the San Antonio Zoo is #6 on a prestigious list which highlights some of the country's most well-known zoos.
Parents honored the San Antonio Zoo for having strong exhibits and programming for children of all ages, highlighting the zoo being the first in the nation to create a children's zoo specifically designed for young children. Editors said the only challenge they found with Kronkosky’s Tiny Tot Nature Spot is what to do first: “Dig up carrots to feed the guinea pigs? Look for animal tracks? Dress up like a vet? Or splash in a small stream (while you relax on the nearby beach)?”
Parents also recognized the San Antonio Zoo’s Africa Live! Exhibit as a great place for older kids to watch hippos and crocodiles swim underwater, feed lorikeets nectar and watch the bears. The San Antonio Zoo has made Parents’ top kid-friendly zoos lists a number of times, first appearing at #6 on the inaugural list in 2009.
“The San Antonio Zoo is once again proud to make Parents magazine’s Top Zoos for Kids list. We work hard to provide fun, innovative, and engaging experiences for children that help them connect with nature,” said Tim Morrow, the zoo’s CEO and executive director. “Our focus is not only teaching them about the animals themselves, but what we can all do to help them survive and thrive in the wild.”
