Parkdale Trading Company: Reclaimed Consumers
Toronto, ON (PRWEB) February 23, 2015 -- Consumer consumption hyper growth is cultivating sizeable market segments from areas that were once considered to be niche.
What once was old is new again. The emerging popularity and demand for salvaged materials has opened a door of opportunity to many local tradesmen and artists. Items such as reclaimed wood was all the rage for the DIY home renovator, but that has now transcended the handy man and found a home in the average home.
The emerging market has not gone unnoticed by designers Kiran Thind and Rodrigo Andrade of Toronto, ON. They have teamed up to address the public outcry for original products that are natural in construction, environmentally friendly and have an inspiring uniqueness.
“The culture produced by big box stores has inundated our society with mundane conformity. The products are grey and the people demand colour!” Exclaims Rodrigo Andrade.
In an attempt to reclaim consumers that have long been forgotten by modern retailers Kiran and Rodrigo have conceived, “Parkdale Trading Company”.
Parkdale Trading Company will encompass the past and the present through a variety of contemporary mediums: a virtual e-commerce store, trendy pop-up shops and a future Parkdale storefront. PTC will specialize in high quality, locally crafted goods along with premium services to the likes of furniture restoration, custom upholstery, professional design and consultation.
Kiran and Rodrigo are extremely confident that the Parkdale Trading Company will be a lucrative endeavour due to the astounding success they have already experienced with local exhibits such as The Toronto Design Offsite Festival (TO DO).
The exhibition featured 10 local artists, designers and craftsmen, received tremendous praise from all who attended and was awarded with 2 “Designlines Loves” awards by Designlines Magazine for Paterson Composites’ Carbon Fiber Chair and Steve Wallin’s hickory and Italian leather sofa.
There is much to look forward to from burgeoning superstars Kiran and Rodrigo in 2015. They will be launching a series of design collaborations with several notable names like menswear designer Matt Robinson of Klaxon Howl, eyewear designer Jag Dhillon of Spectacle, Peter Feeney of Peter Feeney Shoes and illustrator Clayton Hanmer (aka CTON).
Reintroducing local goods into their natural habitat, reducing the footprint left by mass manufacturers and providing an arena for local talent has become the mission and Parkdale Trading Company will soon be the solution.
