PartnerTech Joins Technology Association of Georgia for TechAmerica DC Fly-In
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) February 27, 2015 -- Leading up to the White House Summit on Cyber Security and Consumer Protection, PartnerTech Inc. President, Gary Bruce, joined with other members of the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) for the TechAmerica DC Fly-In. This is a coordinated event to inform industry leaders on legislation regarding technology along with the opportunity to have a voice with Congressmen.
As a manufacturer of technology driven products, evidenced by their current projects with NanoLumens, a leader in LED digital displays and Impact Cryotherapy, a company advancing state-of-the-art whole body cryotherapy, PartnerTech Inc. takes an active role in joining the conversation where industry can be supported. Bruce is an active participant and frequent speaker with a variety of organizations that advance quality and global growth in the manufacturing industry such as the Georgia Tech Manufacturing Institute, the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Manufacturers.
The 20 member group from TAG attended a Tech Policy Summit and Speaker Series addressing key issues regarding Internet Tax Freedom Act, Cyber Security and other challenges facing the technology industry prior to meeting with representatives on the Hill.
Data breaches make headlines on a regular basis–Target, Home Depot, Turbo Tax just to name a few. These attacks are attributed with costing billions of dollars’ worth of loss in our economy each year.
It is clear that the federal government has made cyber-security a national security and public safety issue. President Obama speaking at the White House Summit on Cyber Security reportedly described the current landscape as a ‘cyber-arms race’ and signed an executive order to promote even more information sharing about cyber threats within the private sector and between government and the private sector.
Bruce states, “Attending the Tech Policy Summit and the subsequent meetings with Congressmen from Georgia, provided a voice for those closest to the challenges in industry today. Addressing key issues regarding the pros and cons of information sharing, in an effort to provide security as they relate to business, will continue to evolve and we want to be a part of that conversation.”
