Party animals: Megabooth heads to late night opening at London Zoo
(PRWEB UK) 25 June 2014 -- Megabooth’s London taxi booth will be opposite the event’s silent disco. A classic black cab with a twist, the taxi has been hand-sprayed with painted monkeys, frogs, flowers and ferns.
Inside, there are dangling chandeliers and a wild selection of props, flowers and astroturf where visitors can snap photos with friends and family, before sharing the images instantly via social media.
It’s all part of Zoo Lates which is back for 2014 with a late-night opening every Friday in July and a bonus night in August.
Rachel Posner, Co-founder of Megabooth quoted on the event "We are delighted to be attending Zoo Lates this year, it's given us a chance to bring our taxis a new lease of wild life! It's been great to take part so far and we hope to be back again next time."
Tickets include the chance to witness what some of the zoo’s 175,000 animals get up to in the hours when visitors have usually gone home.
Visitors can see the popular pygmy hippos Thug and Nicky in their new enclosure, which includes a solar-heated pool. There’s also entry to the Tiger Territory where zoo-goers may catch a glimpse of one of the three Sumatran tiger cubs who may be staying up past their bedtime.
Along with the animal attractions, Zoo Lates will feature a varied programme of entertainment from stilt walkers, comedians and acoustic musicians along with fairground rides and food from around the world.
The Bordeaux Jardin Du Vin bar will be staying open late to serve up a selection of specially-chosen wines and there’s also the chance to enjoy a wine tasting in the Bordeaux Petit Château along with cocktails in pop-up bars across the zoo.
There will be demonstrations, talks and animal feeds but feeding time at the zoo is just as much a priority for the humans as the animals, with a lively international street food festival across the central hub where a huge variety of vendors will be dishing up fast and fresh food.
Zoo Lates is an over 18s only event which runs from 6 to 10pm each Friday in July and on August 1. Visitors can buy individual tickets from £16, or choose to add on £22.50 to arrive in style via waterbus from either Little Venice or Camden Lock. Because of the popularity of the late-night openings, it is best to book early.
