Passages Hospice Named Innovative Program of the Year by Illinois Health Care Association
(PRWEB) September 27, 2013 -- The Walking With You video series by Passages Hospice has been named the Innovative Program of the Year by the Illinois Health Care Association as a part of their annual Staff and Volunteer Awards program.
The Walking With You Dialogues are a series of video interviews no longer than two minutes. Each Walking With You video details a different aspect of hospice care, from the admissions process to bereavement.
“These informative videos are helping to change the way hospice services are understood in the community. They are readily available at any time to help patients and their families understand their options when it comes to the difficult decisions regarding hospice care,” said IHCA Executive Director David Voepel.
The video series, which was launched in February 2012, includes more than 10 short videos designed to help people better understand hospice care in a simple, accessible way. It supports Passages Hospice's dedication to patient- and family-centered care by offering a different way to learn about hospice care and by helping extended family members participate in the hospice process.

The Innovative Program of the Year award was presented at the annual IHCA Convention and Trade Show in Peoria, Illinois on September 11th, 2013. The Walking With You series was also named an Honorable Mention in the 2013 Ragan Health Care Public Relations awards.
