PATHION Inc. Announces Chairman and New Board Members
Los Gatos, California (PRWEB) September 19, 2016 -- PATHION Inc., a provider of energy solutions for commercial, industrial, marine and government markets, today announced the addition of four new external board members and the election of a new chairman at its recent board meeting. The four have highly complementary experiences, and all with great degrees of success.
Joining PATHION’s Board of Directors are J. Kermit Campbell, David L. Camp, Gilbert S. Decker and Russell S. Penniman. Mr. Campbell was elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

J. Kermit Campbell
J. Kermit Campbell serves as the Chairman of the Board at PATHION. He spent 32 years at Dow Corning Corporation in various technical and managerial positions including the opening of both Russia and China, followed by the appointment to become President of the United States region. Following his service at Dow Corning he served as Chairman, President, and CEO of Herman Miller Inc., returning that company to profitability and leadership in the office furniture industry. Mr. Campbell was on the SPX Corporate Board of Directors for 21 years, including several years as lead director for the company. He is a Principal and Chairman of United Shield International, a personal body armor manufacturing company and Chairman of Gantec Inc.
Mr. Campbell graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He has a Master in Management from MIT where he was a Sloan Fellow. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Hope College where he served on the Board of Trustees for 20 years and was Chairman of that Board for 8 years.
David L. Camp
Congressman David L. Camp was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1990 and has represented Michigan’s 4th Congressional District for 24 years. In each of his 12 election cycles, he received more than 60 percent of the popular vote. From 2011 to 2015, Mr. Camp served as Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee.
Mr. Camp graduated magna cum laude from Albion College and earned a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law. He is admitted to the State Bars of Michigan, California and the District of Columbia. He has received an Honorary Doctor of Public Service from Central Michigan University and Honorary Doctorate of Law degrees from Alma College, Northwood University, and Saginaw Valley State University.
Gilbert S. Decker
Gilbert S. Decker served as a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Army, and Army Reserve and has held several distinguished positions, including: Assistant Secretary of the Army/Research, Development and Acquisition; President and CEO of the Penn Central Federal Systems Company; President and CEO of Acurex Corporation; President and CEO of ESL, Incorporated; Vice President and General Manager of the Defense Systems Group of TRW Inc.; and Executive Vice President for Engineering, Manufacturing and Program Management of Walt Disney Imagineering.
Mr. Decker holds a Bachelor of Engineering Science and Electrical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University, 1958, and a Master of Science, Operations Research, from Stanford University, 1967. He undertook his military education as a US Army Reserve Officer at the U.S. Army Command & General Staff College as well as at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.
Russell S. Penniman
Rear Admiral Russell S. Penniman graduated from the United States Naval Academy with the class of 1979 and was designated a naval aviator in 1981. In the spring of 1993, he helped to establish Fighter Wing Pacific and subsequently served as the wing’s First Operations Officer. Upon release from active duty in March 1994, Mr. Penniman held multiple assignments as Assistant Chief of Staff for operations with Reserve units supporting Commander, Naval Air Forces, U.S. Pacific Fleet and Commander, U.S. 3rd Fleet. In October 2002, he assumed command of Naval Reserve Carrier Group 0194. Recalled to active duty in January 2003, Mr. Penniman was assigned to the Joint Forces Air Component commander’s staff, U. S. Central Command, where he served as Night Director, Combat Plans Division during the opening months of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In October 2004, Mr. Penniman was reassigned to 3rd Fleet Joint Forces Air Component Commander 0194 where he served as Chief Staff Officer until assuming command of the unit. Mr. Penniman’s first flag assignment was as Deputy Commander, U.S. 3rd Fleet. His subsequent assignment was to the staff of U.S. Pacific Fleet, where he served alternatively as the Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff, Reserve Deputy Commander and Director of Maritime Operations.
Mr. Penniman is a graduate of the Naval Post Graduate School’s Aviation Safety Program and completed the Harvard Kennedy School’s program for Senior Executives in National & International Security Affairs. His military awards include the Legion of Merit (3); Defense Meritorious Service Medal; Meritorious Service Medal (2); Air Medal; Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4); the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2); and other unit, campaign and personal decorations.
Mr. Penniman is currently Managing Partner of Penniman & Associates, LLC, a financial services company.
These four new board members join PATHION’s CEO Mike Liddle and President George Jones.
