PathToFertilty.com Adds New Infertility Blog Contributor: Kate Doyle
(PRWEB) June 11, 2015 -- PathToFertility.com, the daily blog hosted by Reproductive Medicine Associates of Connecticut (RMACT), is adding a new contributor: New Patient Liaison Kate Doyle. In “Kate’s Corner,” Doyle will share with a wide audience the information and insights that she has been sharing one-on-one with new patients at the fertility practice.
As RMACT’s New Patient Liaison, Kate is the first person who speaks with patients before they schedule their initial appointment. They often call with a wide range of questions about the infertility diagnosis, process and possible treatments. Until patients understand the process, infertility treatment can seem daunting. Doyle’s goal is to take away the obstacles holding patients back from the infertility treatment they need to have a child.
“I spend most of my day listening,” says Doyle, who has been working with patients in various roles at RMACT since 2013. “New patients on the onset of treatment are commonly overwhelmed and struggle to put the pieces together. ‘Kate’s Corner’ is a way for me to reach women who haven’t picked up the phone yet, who still need some encouragement to see a fertility specialist.”
Doyle’s first topic is “The Diagnostic Puzzle,” where she explains how infertility can have layers of factors such as genetics and age. It is an example of the type of perspective that Doyle can bring to anyone who thinks they may need help starting a family. Although many couples hesitate before seeing a fertility specialist, infertility is common. It affects approximately 11 percent of the reproductive population, according to American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM).
For over four years, PathToFertility.com has brought a range of infertility topics to those affected by infertility, including RMACT’s community and subscribers readers nationwide; in May 2015, the blog had over 5,500 views. It addresses the medical, social and emotional aspects of infertility with blogs written by RMACT’s board certified doctors, staff and other experts in the infertility field. Lisa Rosenthal, Patient Advocate and Blog Writer and Editor-in-Chief at RMACT, started PathToFertilty in 2010 as another way for the fertility practice to bring support to the infertility community.
"PathtoFertility has been an on-going source of education, comfort and support, according to our readers and patients,” says Rosenthal, who has been an advocate for infertility patients for three decades. “It is a joy and a privilege to be able to share on PathToFertility every weekday and I whole heartedly welcome Kate Doyle on as a valuable additional voice for the infertility community."
