PatientKeeper Receives 2014 ONC HIT Certification
Waltham, MA (PRWEB) April 17, 2014 -- PatientKeeper®, a leading provider of healthcare applications for physicians, today announced that PatientKeeper v8.1 software is compliant with the ONC 2014 Edition criteria and was certified as an EHR Module on March 17, 2014 by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®), an ONC-ACB, in accordance with the applicable hospital certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The ONC 2014 Edition criteria support both Stage 1 and 2 meaningful use measures required to qualify eligible providers and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
PatientKeeper is ONC-ACB 2014 compliant for 19 physician-facing and security criteria that hospitals must address as they seek to attest for Stage 2 Meaningful Use. Other advanced features contained in PatientKeeper v8.1 include a versatile patient list that allows for flexible team assignments and provides views to show various care team and patient relationships; a medication reconciliation workflow optimized for patient transfers between hospital units; and ICD-10 code set support.
Over 70 hospitals throughout the country are relying on PatientKeeper to meet their Stage 2 physician requirements, including CPOE and medication reconciliation.
“By mid-year, PatientKeeper v8.1 will be live at hundreds of hospitals, a number of which plan to begin their 90-day Stage 2 Meaningful Use reporting period in July,” PatientKeeper CEO Paul Brient said. “We are excited to be playing a major role in these institutions’ ongoing efforts to make sure that physician satisfaction and efficiency does not fall victim to Meaningful Use.”
The ONC HIT Certification Program certifies that Complete EHRs meet all of the 2014 Edition criteria and EHR Modules meet one or more – but not all – of the criteria approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) for either eligible provider or hospital technology.
PatientKeeper v8.1’s certification number is CC-2014-285720-1. ONC HIT certification conferred by CCHIT does not represent an endorsement of the certified EHR technology by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The additional software PatientKeeper relied upon to demonstrate compliance includes First Data Bank (FDB) and IMO Problem (IT) 2.4.2.0 from Intelligent Medical Objects. Implementation costs associated with Professional Services and Integrations are defined on a customer by customer basis. Customers will typically pay annual maintenance and support fees along with annual subscriptions for drug database and medical vocabularies.
