Patricia Marks’ Fictional Bible Study Shows Jesus’ Power
BELPRE, Ohio (PRWEB) March 10, 2015 -- Developing stories based on notable characters in the Bible, author Patricia Marks’ new book “The Eyes of the Master” (published by WestBow Press) gives readers a fresh perspective on Jesus’ influence in biblical and modern times. This year, Marks aims to reach a wider audience for her book with a new press campaign.
Marks writes tales about biblical characters including Mary Magdalene, the Gadarene demoniac and others, interweaving her own ideas of how the characters’ lives would have been displayed in the Bible, if these extended stories were explicitly featured in the holy book.
“Every chapter is written about a different character,” Marks says. “They are some of the people mentioned in the gospels who needed to meet Jesus. Each one was changed by their encounters with Him.”
Even though her stories reflect how Jesus influenced these many characters more than 2,000 years ago, Marks says these tales have spiritual relevance today.
“While it’s not scripture, it is scriptural in that I stuck as close to scripture as possible,” Marks says of her book. “It is fiction and meant to entertain. It is also meant to make you think and maybe prompt you to search scripture more.”
