PCA Medical Group Announces Appointment of Two Board Members

The addition of industry thought leaders to its Board positions PCA Medical Group to capitalize on future growth opportunities within the ever-changing healthcare marketplace.
Newly appointed Board members include: Leslie V. Norwalk, Operating Partner at Enhanced Equity Funds and Strategic Counsel to Epstein Becker Green, EBG Advisors and National Health Advisors; and Jacque J. Sokolov, M.D., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SSB Solutions, Inc.
Leslie V. Norwalk is Operating Partner at Enhanced Equity Funds and Strategic Counsel to Epstein Becker Green, EBG Advisors and National Health Advisors. Ms. Norwalk brings extensive advisory and healthcare policy experience to the PCA Medical Group Board, highlighted by her years serving the Bush Administration as Acting Administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Ms. Norwalk also currently serves as an advisor to multiple private equity firms, a member of several professional boards and a member of APCO Worldwide's International Advisory Council.
Jacque J. Sokolov, M.D., is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SSB Solutions, Inc. Following his formal training as an academic cardiologist, Dr. Sokolov served as board director, corporate officer and advisor across multiple healthcare sectors. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Hospira, MedCath Corporation, the National Health Foundation, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Healthcare Community Development Group, Zoonie and MyHealthDirect.

Ms. Norwalk served the Bush Administration as the Acting Administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). She managed the day-to-day operations of Medicare, Medicaid, State Child Health Insurance Programs, survey and certification of healthcare facilities and other federal healthcare initiatives. For four years prior to that, she was the agency's Deputy Administrator, responsible for the implementation of the hundreds of changes made under the Medicare Modernization Act, including the Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit.
Prior to serving the Bush Administration, she practiced law in the Washington, D.C. office of Epstein Becker Green, where she advised clients on a variety of health policy matters. She also served in the first Bush Administration, in the White House Office of Presidential Personnel and in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.
A native of Dayton, Ohio, Ms. Norwalk earned a Juris Doctor degree from the George Mason University School of Law, where she was a Dean's Scholar and an editor of the George Mason Law Review. She earned a bachelor's degree, cum laude, in economics and international relations from Wellesley College.
Jacque J. Sokolov, M.D. is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SSB Solutions, Inc., a U.S. based, diversified healthcare management consulting, development and financial services company. Following his formal training as an academic cardiologist, Dr. Sokolov has served as board director, corporate officer and advisor across multiple healthcare sectors. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Hospira, MedCath Corporation, the National Health Foundation, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Healthcare Community Development Group, Zoonie and MyHealthDirect, Inc.
Dr. Sokolov previously served as Vice President of Healthcare for Southern California Edison Corporation, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Coastal Physician Group and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the White House Health Project. Additionally, he was member of the Board of Directors of the American College of Medical Quality, the National Fund for Medical Education and the National Business Group on Health (formerly the Washington Business Group on Health).
Dr. Sokolov received his BA in medicine from the University of Southern California and his M.D. from the USC School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine and his fellowship in cardiovascular diseases from the University of Texas-Southwestern Medical School. He previously held and currently holds academic appointments and advisory board responsibilities in the Schools of Medicine, Business and Public Health at Harvard, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of California, Los Angeles and the University of Southern California.
