New York, NY (PRWEB) June 22, 2015 -- Today, Pearl launched its innovative new app that helps consumers find daily offerings of oysters at restaurants across the country. Pearl gives users a new way to learn about oysters and find what is available by aggregating real-time restaurant menu information in an easy to navigate app. The Pearl app is available immediately on iOS devices.
The Pearl app takes advantage of a unique mobile design to bring users a sleek and simple interface that allows them to search for their favorite oysters, locate restaurants nearby that have them on the menu, and learn about oysters. Users can view flavor profiles, save oysters they like, and rate oysters, all within the app. The app’s sophisticated software allows restaurants to drag and drop their oysters and happy hour specials through the system in less than five minutes. Pearl’s system then matches these oysters within the database and instantly displays their profile in the app, giving users information immediately.
“At Pearl, we want consumers to enjoy and learn about oysters in the same way people learn about and enjoy wine,” said Sam Asher, founder of Pearl. “We believe that diners want more access to information about the seafood they are eating just as they do with other menu items. Our goal is to educate diners first by helping them learn about the many varieties of oysters so they better understand what they like allowing them to expand their dining horizons and enjoy the experience of eating oysters again and again.”
Pearl wants to help consumers understand more about the seafood they are eating so they can make smarter decisions. In order to do this, consumers need to have access to information to make those educated decisions that up until now was unavailable. Pearl aims to solve this problem with oysters and expects to include other seafood in the future. The technology in the app helps restaurants be more transparent about product availability which gives consumers access to consistent information. Once consumers learn more about the menu items they enjoy, they will be more inclined to search for it, which creates opportunities for restaurants.
“For instance, based on my personal preferences saved in Pearl, if I’m traveling to San Francisco and I know I like Kumamoto oysters, I can open the app and discover new restaurants serving that oyster which allows the restaurants to gain a new customer,” said Asher.
The app is the first for Pearl and kicks off its vision to better connect suppliers, restaurants, and diners to create amazing and unique food experiences that diners will love. As the app gains users, Pearl hopes to generate data on diner preferences and feedback that restaurant owners can use to make purchasing decisions. With this data, restaurants are able to know what diners want, which could drive better, more efficient ordering behaviors for restaurants and farmers.
Today, Pearl has more than 150 restaurants and oyster farmers participating in the app, including oyster hotspots in New York, Boston, San Francisco, and Chicago. Pearl will continue to add more restaurants and oyster farmers to help build an engaging and informative app experience.
