TORONTO (PRWEB) August 10, 2015 -- This year at the American Psychological Association's (APA) 123rd Annual Convention in Toronto, Pearson will showcase its thought leadership and innovation in developing clinical assessments that assist clinicians and educators as they improve lives.
Making its debut at the 2015 APA Conference is the Millon® Clinical Multiaxial Inventory-IV (MCMI®-IV). Anchored in Theodore Millon, Ph.D.’s time-honored personality theory, the MCMI-IV provides helpful clinical insights into a patient’s personality that allow clinicians to make reliable diagnostic and treatment decisions. The MCMI-IV offers updated norms that are based on a clinical adult population; a new Clinical Personality Pattern scale; alignment with the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition (DSM-5®) and the International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM); updated narrative content; and a new and deeper therapeutic focus. The brevity of the MCMI-IV allows clinicians to maintain an efficient and productive clinical practice.
Also being unveiled for the first time at the conference is the Behavior Assessment System for Children, Third Edition (BASC-3). For more than 20 years, the BASC has provided school and clinical psychologists with a complete picture of a child's behavior. In the third edition, authors Cecil Reynolds, Ph.D., and Randy Kamphaus, Ph.D., provide the most comprehensive set of rating scales for measuring areas important for both IDEA and DSM-5 classifications. With the BASC-3, a child’s behavior is measured from three perspectives—self, teacher and parent.
Other innovative clinical assessment tools that will be showcased in Pearson Booth #418 include:
Q-interactive, an award-winning, innovative digital system for delivering clinical assessments.
Q-global, a web-based system for administering, scoring and reporting on assessments.
Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory®-2 (MMPI®-2), the most widely used and researched test of adult psychopathology.
Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children®-Fifth Edition (WISC-V), the latest version of the proven and trusted cognitive ability measure.
Kaufman Test of Educational Achievement, Third Edition (KTEA-3) , a comprehensive assessment of key academic skills. The third edition maintains all the important features of the KTEA-II and offers a wealth of updates for targeted intervention.
