PenFed Foundation Announces Leadership Transition
Alexandria, VA (PRWEB) July 30, 2015 -- The PenFed Foundation announced today that Jane Whitfield stepped down as president and CEO of the foundation. Whitfield will continue to work closely with the foundation as a fundraising consultant.
"Through Jane's guidance, the foundation is positioned to move into the future with a strong strategic plan and clear vision," said James Schenck, president and CEO of PenFed Credit Union. "Her dedication and commitment to the PenFed Foundation will continue as we work together for a safe and secure financial future for our nation’s defenders."
During her tenure as CEO, Whitfield led the foundation in developing a five year growth plan which expands its financial education and assistance programs to serve more military personnel, veterans and their families with long-lasting impact. In addition, she and her team were instrumental in raising millions of dollars to support the Lee & Penny Anderson Defenders Lodge—a public private partnership with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Whitfield also oversaw two successful fundraising Night of Heroes galas in Washington, D.C. that grossed in excess of $2 million dollars. Both Schenck and Whitfield are excited about the future of the foundation and its mission in serving our nation's defenders.
"Advocating on behalf of those who serve our country is a privilege and I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with the PenFed Foundation," Whitfield said. "I am looking forward to our continued partnership and to serving our military community for years to come."
