Penguin Computing to Offer Pica8’s Network Operating System
FREMONT, CA (PRWEB) April 28, 2015 -- Penguin Computing, provider of high performance computing, enterprise data center and cloud solutions, today announced that the company will offer the Pica8®, Inc. PicOS operating system as an option on Penguin Computing’s Arctica “bright box” top of rack switches. This move extends options for data center operators, service providers, carriers and enterprise private cloud environments to leverage standardized high performance hardware and open switching software to integrate Layer 2 / Layer 3 protocols with SDN protocols. PicOS has a perpetual licensing model (one-time fee) and has three editions, so customers only purchase what they need, including Linux Switching OS, Routing, and SDN, or the bundle, which includes all three Editions.

Pica8 and Penguin Computing will be demonstrating the bright box solution at Interop Las Vegas (Interop booth #1458). In the demonstration, attendees will see Pica8’s virtual laboratory, which shows how easy it is to use PicOS on a Penguin Computing switch.
