Pennsylvania’s Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) approves GrapeSEED for Early Childhood Education
Pittsburgh, PA: (PRWEB) June 13, 2015 -- The GrapeSEED program is now officially aligned with the Pennsylvania Pre-Kindergarten Learning Standards for Early Childhood in the key learning area of Language and Literacy Development.
Pennsylvania’s Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) strives to build a strong foundation for children, starting in infancy, through the establishment of a statewide standard for excellence in early care and education and the creation of financial and technical supports to achieve that goal.
Maryanne Olley, Early Education Advisor for OCDEL, announced in a letter that “GrapeSEED will be placed on Pennsylvania’s approved curricula listing for programs use beginning on July 1, 2015. It will be notated that the GrapeSEED curriculum is aligned to the key learning area of Language and Literacy.”
Ms. Olley added that “State-funded early learning providers will begin official implementation of the revised standards beginning July 2015. Programs must utilize a standards-aligned curriculum as part of their state-funded program requirements.”
Alignment with the Learning Standards makes it possible for Pennsylvania schools and early childhood education providers to apply for state funds to purchase GrapeSEED for use in any of the following programs: PA Pre-K Counts, Keystone Stars, Head Start Supplemental Assistance, or Early Intervention.
