Pensacon 2016 Brings Three Days of Florida Comic Con Madness to Beaches of Gulf Coast
Pensacola, FL (PRWEB) December 07, 2015 -- The sugar-white sand and turquoise water of this Gulf Coast vacation hotspot have long beckoned visitors from far, far away. This spring, however, Visit Pensacola will roll out the welcome mat for travelers of a different sort — the intergalactic kind.
Pensacon 2016 — the premier Northwest Florida comic con and celebration of all things nerdy — will kick off Feb. 19 and run through Feb. 21, bringing along with it a full roster of celebrity guests, fandom-themed parties and reveling cosplayers.
Last year’s event brought roughly 22,000 people to the Pensacola Bay Center, Crowne Plaza Pensacola Grand Hotel and the Saenger Theatre. This year is expected to be bigger and better — with event organizers expanding to venues throughout Downtown Pensacola.
Among the celebrities scheduled to make an appearance are comedian and voice actor Dana Snyder (who voiced the character Master Shake on "Aqua Teen Hunger Force"); “Star Wars” actors Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), David Prowse (Darth Vader), Tim Rose (Admiral Ackbar) and Mike Quinn (Nien Numb); “Doctor Who” stars Peter Davison (the fifth doctor) and Dan Starkey (Strax); actors Jonathan Frakes (Riker, from “Star Trek: The Next Generation”) and Bruce Boxleitner (Alan Bradley and Tron, from the original “Tron”); “Rocky Horror Picture Show” alumni Barry Bostwick (Brad Majors), Nell Campbell (Columbia) and Patricia Quinn (Magenta); and “Game of Thrones” stars Eugene Simon (Lacel Lanister), Ellie Kendrick (Meera Reed), Gemma Whelan (Yara Greyjoy) and Jessica Henwick (Nymeria Sand).
VIP passes for this year’s event have sold out, but regular weekend passes still are available for $65, and single-day tickets start at $30. To learn more, or to purchase tickets, visit http://www.pensacon.com.
