People’s Trust Insurance Company Wins 2013 Enterprise Florida Governor’s Innovators in Business Award
Deerfield Beach, FL (PRWEB) January 22, 2014 -- Yesterday, Governor Rick Scott and Florida Secretary of Commerce and President & CEO of Enterprise Florida (EFI) Gray Swoope, announced that People’s Trust Insurance Company has been recognized as the 2013 Enterprise Florida Governor’s Innovators in Business Award winner for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
The award recognizes Florida companies in select industries that have influenced the state’s economic growth and diversification during the past year. The Governor’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Award is specifically for Florida start-up companies or innovative companies that have set a standard for entrepreneurship and creativity in the past three years. Winners are chosen by a panel of judges that includes business leaders, past winners and EFI staff.

In 2013, People’s Trust added more than 40,000 new policyholders and expanded its workforce from 162 to more than 425 employees statewide. Direct written premiums for the emerging company increased 230 percent to $208 million.
