PeopleKeys to Air 'How to Be a Better Test Taker' Webinar
Boardman, Ohio (PRWEB) August 21, 2015 -- Just in time for the start of a new school year, PeopleKeys, a company that specializes in DISC behavioral analysis, today announced plans to air a free “How to Be a Better Test Taker Webinar” at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26. The webinar is designed to help students make the most of the upcoming school year, and will teach strategies for using the strengths inherent in each individual’s personality style to increase academic performance and reduce anxiety in test taking situations.
“With schools back in session this month, test taking and academic performance has become a top priority in many American households,” said PeopleKeys Master Coach John Schindell. “Unfortunately, the rise of ‘high stakes’ testing and increased academic pressures have caused test taking to become one of the most significant sources of anxiety in a child’s life. The good news is that by using each student’s unique personality as a guide, it’s possible to find easily implementable strategies that can make the test taking experience less stressful, and noticeably improve test performance.”
The Be a Better Test Taker Webinar comes in response to recent data from the American Test Anxieties Association, which found that nearly 40% of American students reported feeling moderate or high levels of test anxiety. According to the American Test Anxieties Association, the negative side-effects of test anxiety can include:
- Forgetfulness
- Compromised reasoning skills
- Testing mistakes (poor time management, not following directions)
- Lower test scores
The 30-minute "How to Be a Better Test Taker" webinar will be appropriate for teachers, parents, and students of all ages, and will cover:
- The basics of DISC behavioral analysis, and an introduction to the four major DISC personality styles
- How to use DISC to find studying and test taking strategies tailored to your personality style
- Techniques for reducing the stress associated with high stakes testing
- A plan of action for test taking proven to improve scores and boost grades
Schindell, the instructor of the “How to Be a Better Test Taker” DISC webinar, said that, “Through DISC, you can use your personality style as a guide to make the most out of testing without adding on all of the unnecessary anxiety. We want to use what we know about DISC to teach people how to better understand how to improve their study habits, and make sure they do their best in the upcoming school year.”
The free “How to Be a Better Test Taker” webinar will be presented as a part of PeopleKeys’ new “How to Be a Better…” series, which includes monthly installments of live 30-minute DISC training sessions on a variety of personal growth and self-improvement topics.
