Lacey, WA (PRWEB) February 11, 2015 -- Alliance Enterprises, Inc. (Alliance) is pleased to announce that performance management expert, Gary Cokins, has joined the MyObjectives Gamification Advisors Program. The MyObjectives Gamification Advisors Program features accomplished gamification and performance management professionals who collaborate with Alliance Enterprises, and the MyObjectives user community, to advance the concepts of Management by Gaming. Alliance’s CEO, Chris M. Pieper, commented that, “Our growing community of organizations participating in the MyObjectives beta program is thrilled to have Gary on-board as an advisor and coach.”
In a career spanning over 40 years, Gary has held senior positions at FMC Corporation, Deloitte, KPMG, EDS, BetterManagment.com and SAS. Regarding his career, Gary noted, “I was fortunate to have been involved with Harvard Business School Professor Robert S. Kaplan and Dr. David Norton in the 1980s with the inception of balanced scorecards, dashboards, key performance indicators and activity-based cost management for cost and profitability analysis.”
Pieper also commented, “Having an international expert in enterprise performance management on the team will ensure that we leverage the experience and wisdom of the past while introducing exciting new gaming mechanics into current best practices.”
Reflecting on the surging interest in business gamification, Cokins noted, “There are many flavors on leadership and hundreds of books about the topic. My flavor has been thought leadership of managerial methods for organizational improvement and transformation. The gamification of management will profoundly change leadership from an art to a science. Neuroscience and brain chemicals will merge with management best practices to compel employee teams to engage and become active participants in the game of management. I’m very optimistic about the future and excited to join fellow experts in performance management and gamification, as we help blaze new trails and usher in the era of Management by Gaming.”
Gary has a rich and unique history in software, sports and game mechanics, having written a baseball game simulation, with his Cornell fraternity brother Pete Watzka, which is recognized by the National Baseball Hall of Fame as the oldest computer baseball game on record.
