PetroLocate’s Seismoelectric PL14 Exploration System Lowers the Costs of Oil Production and Trumps Traditional Seismic Exploration Methods.
Lakewood, WA (PRWEB) April 23, 2015 -- New PL14 seismoelectric exploration unit operator (Texoma Exploration) has been involved in a total of ten oil exploration programs using the PetroLocate technology. After testing exploration sites with the PL14, nine produced accurate results where Mike G., Geophysicist of Texoma, identified six wells as having enough oil for economical extraction from a vertical oil well. Testing at two of the sites showed no significant seismoelectric response from the PL14 data these results were given to the Texoma clients and subsequent drilling confirmed a lack of oil at both sites. At another site, oil was encountered but it was determined by the Texoma client that there wasn’t sufficient oil for economic development. Two of the successful oil wells were drilled at wildcat sites.
Additionally, one of the successful sites was at an existing oil well where the PL14 data showed a deeper oil play. The existing oil well was deepened to capture the oil from the newly identified zone.
The PL14 oil exploration technology became available to the market in early 2014 after patents were filed [patent pending pub. No.: US 2014/0111207 A1]. The PL14 is similar to the groundwater exploration technology used worldwide by PetroLocate founder Ervin M. Kraemer since 2001. The difference between traditional seismic exploration technology and the PL14 exploration technology is that it detects mobile resistive liquids whereas traditional seismic exploration is limited to the detection of rock geology. Affordability of exploration surveys as well as product costs are additional varying factors between the two exploration technologies whereas the PL14 is affordable to large and small oil exploration firms alike.
