Pets Unlimited Veterinary Hospital is Now the San Francisco SPCA Veterinary Hospital
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 14, 2014 -- Today, the San Francisco SPCA announced the renaming of the Pets Unlimited Veterinary Hospital to the San Francisco SPCA Veterinary Hospital. As a result, the organization’s two veterinary hospitals will both fall under the San Francisco SPCA Veterinary Hospital name.
"We are excited to announce another milestone in the successful merger between the SF SPCA and Pets Unlimited, which will support and align the operations at our Mission and Pacific Heights veterinary hospitals" said Jason Walthall, SF SPCA co-president. "By renaming the Pacific Heights hospital we'll bring our two hospitals closer together, free up additional resources for animal care, and eliminate any public confusion."
Despite the name change, there will be no changes in operations at the hospitals. Clients and their pets will continue to receive great care from the same veterinarians and support staff at each campus location.
The adoption center at the SF SPCA's Pacific Heights campus was rebranded soon after the merger. Since the rebranding, there has been a 400% increase in the number of dogs adopted and an 800% increase in the number of cat adoptions. Hundreds of animals are now in loving homes as a direct result of this merger, and it's expected that the merger will lead to 1,000 extra adoptions each year.
To pay homage to its history, the Pets Unlimited name will still be used as a secondary way to refer to the hospital. The formal name will be the San Francisco SPCA Veterinary Hospital, Pacific Heights Campus at the Pets Unlimited Care Center. Name signage will also be placed throughout the Pacific Heights campus, and the SF SPCA will launch a special Pets Unlimited history page on its website.
