PetsPage.com Creator and CEO Karen Bostick Nominated for Pet Industry Woman of the Year
Boise, Idaho (PRWEB) July 30, 2013 -- Karen Bostick, Creator and CEO of PetsPage.com has been nominated as a candidate for Pet Industry Woman of the Year – an award sponsored by Women in the Pet Industry Network (WIPIN), a leading organization focused on women entrepreneurs in the ever-growing pet industry.
Bostick was nominated in the “Rising Star” category. The Pet Industry Woman of the Year “Rising Star” is presented to a woman of merit who has rocketed herself onto the pet industry scene by making a name for herself and has become a woman to definitely watch. She has achieved much in a short amount of time. Winners will be announced at the Women in the Pet Industry Conference and Awards Show on August 24 in Portland, Oregon.
In less than 6 months, Bostick has burst onto the pet industry scene with one of the most innovative and creative websites to hit the industry to date. PetsPage.com officially launched on July 15, 2013 with a primary mission to make pet owners aware of a higher level of veterinary care in the form of veterinary specialists that few pet owners know exist, and that can quite literally save pets’ lives.
The PetsPage mission is very personal to Bostick. She almost lost her little dog, Tinks to a rare auto immune disorder. Tinks was only saved by the advanced treatment options from a veterinary specialist. The daughter of a veterinary herself, even Bostick was unaware that veterinary specialists existed and the potentially life-saving treatments they can provide for pets.
Bostick did not, however, create just another dry pet health education website. In fact, it’s anything but. PetsPage.com is an engaging social pet community designed to connect pet lovers with other pet lovers as well as veterinary specialists, other pet professionals and pet products in a fun, friendly and interactive way – what Bostick calls “A Place for the Social Pet.”
During the development process of PetsPage.com, Bostick turned her beloved little Tinks into a social super star with Karen Bostick & Tinks, We Love Tinks, and MyPetAdvocate.org, which collectively have over 150,000 likes and rising.
