The Denver Broncos and Payton Manning traveled to MetLife Stadium where they took on and defeated the New York Giants and quarterback Eli Manning. Manning did not need to do all the work this game, as he had help from running back Knowshon Moreno, who rushed for two touchdowns and 93 yards, on only 13 carries. On his own, Moreno outrushed the Giants by 93 yards to 23. The Broncos are now 2-0 at the start of this 2013 season, and this game marked the first time in 33 years that the Broncos defeated the Giants in New Jersey.
To help the domination against the Giants, Peyton also found teammates Wes Welker and Julius Thomas for touchdowns. Peyton finished the game with 30 of 43 pass attempts and 307 yards with no interceptions. Eli finished 28 of 39 for 362 yards, but was intercepted 4 times in the loss. In the entirety of last season Eli had 15 interceptions. This year, he already has 7. The Broncos rolled to victory over the Giants by a score of 41-23. With the loss, the Giants fall to 0-2.
The Denver Broncos had another big win this season, when they defeated the reining Super Bowl champs the Baltimore Ravens in the first week.
