Phoenix Design Consultancy Stretches Its Creative Legs with New Short Film on Fly Fishing
Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) October 25, 2013 -- The crew at Kitchen Sink Studios, a local design consultancy in downtown Phoenix, released their latest short film this month, "Vermillion."
In the piece, a story of blurring lines between friendship, fly fishing and filmmaking is set in Northern Arizona. Shot over a total of nine days at Lees Ferry near the Glen Canyon Dam, the team explored the area—known to be one of the best spots for fly fishing in the state—with a thirst for adventure and an eye-catching landscape.
After months of editing, "Vermillion" is what resulted.
"This is the start of something big for all of us, and is pivotal to KSS and the team," said creative director Doug Bell. "We're really proud of the film."
The seven-member team handled everything from initial concepts, storyboarding, planning, gaining film permits, filming, handling equipment, scripting, and post production for the new documentary-style adventure film.
By executing every step of the filmmaking process themselves, the studio is truly living up to its name in providing everything… including the kitchen sink.
"Because everything is done in-house, we're able to deliver a unique and seamless brand," Hower said.
Kitchen Sink Studios was started 14 years ago and offers graphic design, branding, print services, 3D animation, web development, marketing, professional photography, and now custom film services. This new leg of the studio got under way less than a year ago and has grown into a department with about a dozen short films and marketing and promotional videos under its belt, including its well-received documentary "The Tallest Mural in Arizona."
"Our hope is that our peers and clients may see this medium as an additional format to tell their story — and, we can be the ones to help them tell it," Hower said.
