Photography Director of "Broken City" Visits New York Film Academy
New York, NY (PRWEB) July 17, 2013 -- The New York Film Academy will be hosting an exclusive Guest Speaker event with special guest, Cinematographer, Ben Seresin. Ben has been a member of the British Society of Cinematographers (BSC) since 2010, and the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) since 2011. He has worked on the films Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, World War Z, Pain & Gain, and more. With over thirty years in the business, Ben has worked with many of Hollywood’s top directors. Recently, blockbuster director, Michael Bay, has chosen to work with Ben on Transformers and Pain & Gain. Ben will be discussing his career as a professional Director of Photography and his work on the film, Broken City. “We’re thrilled to welcome a talented, well-respected D.P. like Ben Seresin,” said NYFA Cinematography Chair, John Loughlin. “My students and I are definitely looking forward to this!”
The New York Film Academy frequently hosts special industry guest speakers in both their Los Angeles and New York City locations. Former guests have included Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard, Wally Pfister, Josh Brolin, and many more. Due to the “learn by doing” approach to the arts, the New York Film Academy is considered one of the best hands-on film schools in the world by many of today's top filmmakers. The Guest Speaker event begins at 2:30pm EST at NYFA’s Union Square Screening Room. Prior to Ben’s Q&A session, moderated by John Loughlin, there will be a screening of the 2013 film, Broken City, which Ben worked on as Director of Photography. The crime thriller boasts a star-studded cast, which includes Mark Wahlberg, Russell Crowe, and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Students and alumni are highly encouraged to attend this special event and should arrive early for seating.
