PHS Washrooms Applauds World Toilet Day Campaign
Cardiff (PRWEB UK) 19 November 2013 -- 19th November 2013 is World Toilet Day, an international day of action designed to raise awareness of the sanitation challenge faced by one in three people across the globe.
Around six billion people in the world have mobile phones, but a staggering 2.5 billion do not have access to proper sanitation and 1.1 billion still defecate in the open.
As the leading washroom services provider in the UK, PHS Washrooms applauds the efforts of everyone involved in World Toilet Day who hope to tackle this problem.
Keri Reynolds, Marketing Manager for PHS Washrooms, said: “World Toilet Day aims to break the taboo around toilets and draw attention to the global sanitation challenge.
“Sanitation is a Human Right, yet millions of people around the world fall ill as a direct result of poor hygiene.
“Diarrhoeal diseases are still the second most common cause of death of young children in developing countries, something which could be changed if all seven billion people on this planet had access to clean toilets.
“At PHS, we work with a large number of organisations across the UK and the EU to ensure that toilets remain clean and hygienic at all times, in both working environments and public places.
“We hope that World Toilet Day 2013 will raise awareness of this key public health issue and help us all achieve the goal of improving toilet and sanitation conditions worldwide.”
