Phunware Launches Navigation App at Loma Linda University Health
AUSTIN, Texas (PRWEB) November 10, 2016 -- Phunware, whose Multiscreen as a Service platform enables brands to engage, manage and monetize their mobile users anytime, anywhere, and Loma Linda University Health (LLUH) announced Navigate LLUH, a wayfinding app for LLUH students and faculty.
Designed to help students and faculty better navigate the LLUH campus, the pilot app uses Bluetooth low energy (BLE) beacons placed in the hallways of Nichol Hall to direct users based on their location. Navigate LLUH features both blue dot and static wayfinding technology, meaning users can receive either real-time, GPS-like indoor guidance (blue dot) or generate and follow static routes between a start and end point. Other features include:
- Faculty Directory, which helps students find and navigate to faculty offices.
- Student Services Directory, where students can gather information about campus clubs and organizations, dining facilities, campus housing and student health services.
- My LLUH, where students and faculty can access LLUH campus news and events.
- Local weather.
- LLUH social access, a social platform for students to engage with one another.

After downloading Navigate LLUH, users are prompted to complete a survey based on their mobile experience. Since the app’s release in September, Navigate LLUH has received hundreds of downloads and highly positive feedback among students and faculty members who completed the survey.
Currently, Navigate LLUH is limited to Nichol Hall, home to LLU School of Public Health and LLU School of Allied Health Professions, and may be expanded to serve students, faculty, patients and visitors across the entire LLUH enterprise and network of medical centers including Loma Linda University Medical Center, Children’s Hospital and other Loma Linda University schools.

The Navigate LLUH pilot app is available to download and use for both iOS and Android devices in the Apple App Store and Google Play until November 17, 2016.
