Nashville, TN (PRWEB) October 29, 2013 -- PhyMed Healthcare Group has appointed Frederick Miller, MD, MBA, MHA, the former President of Pediatrix/MEDNAX, Inc as President and CEO. “Dr. Miller is a proven and accomplished healthcare executive. With his expertise, healthcare experience, and knowledge base as a physician executive, he adds the final dimension for PhyMed’s ambitious expansion and growth plans to be a best-in-class industry leader focused on great clinical care and quality outcomes,” says Robert A. Dr. Miller has succeeded David Whitten, who recently retired as president and chief executive officer of PhyMed and is currently a member of PhyMed’s Board of Directors.
Dr. Miller served as President of Pediatrix, a Division of MEDNAX Medical Group, with revenues of $1.3 billion, and approximately 1,300 physicians, 600-plus advanced practitioners, managing 10 service lines, and serving more than 500 hospitals in 120 markets (34 states and Puerto Rico). He has expertise in strategic healthcare delivery design, clinical quality and process improvement. During his career at Pediatrix, Dr. Miller had several key positions and responsibilities including Regional President, Atlantic Region, Corporate Medical Director, Vice President of Medical Operations, Liaison for Corporate and Legislative Affairs, Regional Director of Managed Care and Chairman of the company’s Research and Educational Committee.
