Phynd Technologies Announces First Upgrade of Its Cloud-based Provider Information Management Platform
Kearney, NE (PRWEB) November 20, 2013 -- Phynd Technologies, developer of the health care industry’s first cloud-based provider information management platform (C-PIM), this week introduced its first upgrade, which is designed to give administrators even greater insight and control over their provider data.
Phynd™ enables all medical groups, hospital departments and the hospital enterprise that need provider data (clinical, marketing, billing, administrative) to manage and improve one Universal Provider Profile (UPP™) that is managed in the cloud and integrated into core health care IT systems.
This is the second major release for the Phynd C-PIM which was launched in late June 2013. Based on customer and market feedback Phynd™ v 1.5 has added work-flow tools to enable Phynd administrators to manage the constant flow of profile changes by providers in the field and hospital resources (referral help-desk, schedulers, registration and others) real-time. This real-time monitor of changes to profiles includes the source of the change and creates a legacy history of these changes for the first-time.
This is an administrative function that a hospital or health system’s EMR Security or a similar group manage, said Thomas White, founder and CEO of Phynd Technologies.
“Phynd speeds up the data verification process, while documenting what was changed, by whom and who approved it,” White said.
White said that healthcare IT systems (EMR, Ancillary Systems, third-party systems) have redundant entries for each provider, are managed independently of each other and have no single, easily managed repository for provider information. Phynd solves that problem and complements these systems, he said.
“Although providers and hospitals have invested millions of dollars in upgrading IT systems, the challenge of managing and making provider data accessible has been a weak link that no other technology addresses,” said Santos Bonilla, Epic Security Manager, Yale New Haven Health System.
“Phynd has greatly improved the provider data quality in our EMR while introducing workflow tools to maintain the data quality we need. With Phynd we use only one source for provider data for all our systems, which avoids duplication and inefficiency,” Bonilla said.
By avoiding multiple entries and duplication of effort, the Phynd system can save hospitals much money and help improve the quality of patient care, White said.
Poor provider data costs hospitals millions in delayed revenue. Typically, 10-12 percent of hospital revenue at any point is stalled by incomplete or redundant provider data. Moreover, at least 10 different departments typically manage provider data. This redundancy creates excess labor expense – typically $500,000 in an average-size hospital.
Since Phynd is cloud-based, there is no software to install or hardware to buy. It is available via the Web on a subscription basis and provides an integrated feed of information for any hospital IT system.
Here are the significant upgrades in Phynd v 1.5:
• The Provider Work List enables Phynd Administrators to efficiently verify and log changes based on real-time monitoring, alerting of changes to profiles;
• Administrators can create customized views for their individual work flow needs;
• Customers choose which fields require verification through the Provider Work List
• Provided as an optional workflow (Provider Work List) for customers who have dedicated staff for profile validation.
