PIE Training Adds Spread Betting to Options Trading Brokerage

“Until September 2013 we have used Interactive Brokers as our main brokerage service provider” said Glynn Calvert, Director of PIE Training. “However, to use this service, it has been a requirement to have at least £10,000 on deposit to run a trading account.”

A derivative strategy, spread betting allows UK investors to speculate, based on prices offered by a broker, on whether an asset’s price will rise or fall. They can look at long and short term prices, and, in the case of PIE, only the FTSE and DAX markets are traded.
“For spread bets, two prices are quoted - one at which you are able to buy and one a sell price” explained Mr Calvert. “The difference between these is said to be ‘the spread’ and having the flexibility to look at both the long and short term makes spread betting an attractive financial trading option.”
