Pine Instrument Introduces Hydraulic Cement Concrete Measurement System
Grove City, PA (PRWEB) December 10, 2014 -- Pine Instrument Company, a leader in the design and manufacture of materials testing equipment, has introduced the Pine AFCT2 system for determining the Coefficient of Thermal Expansion (CTE) of hydraulic cement samples over a temperate Range of 10°C to 50°C. The test, which meets Mechanistic Empirical Design Guide Federal Requirements; the requirements of AASHTO T366; and accommodates specimen diameters of 90 mm to 160 mm and samples lengths of 168 mm to 188 mm.
The Pine AFCT2 holds three test fixtures and consists of a water-bath, heating/cooling circulator, specimen fixture, interface electronics, temperature measurement instrumentation and control software. A titanium calibration specimen and a 304 stainless steel verification specimen accompany the system. The system comes with one fixture with additional fixtures available. Standard setup includes a single temperature probe with two- and four-probe configurations available. Purchase of the control computer from Pine is optional.
The control software manages the testing sequence, cycling the temperature while storing the temperature, displacement, and time data. Most testing parameters are programmable to allow for alternate testing protocols. The AFCT2 requires relatively minimal operator input and attention.
