Pinehurst Area CVB Sales Executive Named, “One to Watch” by Renowned Meeting Publication
Southern Pines, NC (PRWEB) December 17, 2013 -- ConventionSouth Magazine, the national meetings magazine focused on the South, has named Pinehurst Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Sales Director Beverly Stewart as a “Meeting Pro to Watch in 2014.”
Released annually, the elite list of meeting planners recognizes those leaders that exhibit outstanding work ethic, creativity and dedication to the industry.
Vetted by an in-depth survey process and finalized based on planner reviews and recommendations, the final class is chosen each November. This year’s award winners will be featured in the December edition of the magazine, released this week.
Stewart, a native of Pinehurst, North Carolina, has served the region’s Convention and Visitors Bureau for over 20 years. With less than 4,000 hotel rooms, the region has drawn and retained a portfolio of international, national and regional events, as well as Fortune 500 and large association meetings during her tenure.
“I’m most honored and humbled by this award because I was nominated by my peers – those who understand both the competitive nature of our business, and our need to help each other,” says Stewart. “The exposure our destination gains from the gatherings we bring has a significant, positive and long-lasting economic impact on our communities.”
This is Stewart’s fourth time to be nominated for the honor, and the first time to make the final list.
“Your actions truly make you an inspiration to others,” the official letter read, notifying Stewart of the accolade.
The area will welcome the return of the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open Championships next June, drawing spectators, golf professionals and media from more than 30 countries. The CVB was honored with a ConventionSouth “Readers Choice” Award for the fifth time earlier this year.
