Pines Education Institute presents Dementia Care Workshops with Teepa Snow
Sarasota, FL (PRWEB) January 23, 2015 -- The workshop on March 30th, “Challenging Behaviors in Dementia Care: Recognizing & Meeting Unmet Needs,” will teach attendees causes and solutions for common dementia care reactions like aggression, resistance or yelling.
The workshop on March 31st, “In-Home Dementia Caregiving: Teepa’s Tips and Techniques,” focuses on family caregiving challenges such as communication, distress, sleep disturbances and medication concerns.
“Over the years, we have seen many dementia caregivers struggle with the resistive, aggressive behaviors directed at them,” JoAnn Westbrook, Director of Education, explains. “Not knowing how to calm and redirect such situations can quickly lead to frustration, resentment and caregiver burnout. That’s why we decided to partner with Teepa on these topics. She’s unrivaled in her ability to reconnect caregivers and patients. Her “Positive Approach™ to Care” philosophy makes her the guiding light of dementia care.”
The workshops will be available on DVD at a later time to help caregivers worldwide that struggle with similar issues.
