Pines of Sarasota Education & Training Institute Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary with Two Live Dementia Care Seminars with Teepa Snow
Sarasota, FL (PRWEB) June 09, 2017 -- Pines of Sarasota Education & Training Institute will celebrate its 10 year anniversary with two live seminars with America’s leading dementia care educator Teepa Snow on July 13th and 14th, 2017.
During the first seminar on July 13th from 9am to 12pm EST attendees will learn about Vascular Dementia, such as early signs of change in cognition and behaviors, and how care and expectations might need to change to best meet the needs of the person living with vascular dementia.
The second seminar, which will take place on July 14th from 9am to 12pmEST, will address “How to Get Staff Engaged in Better Care Techniques.” Attendees will get to build their skills to change staff behavior toward individuals with dementia, how to take one’s techniques from traditional supervising to coaching, and how to best guide staff during challenging behaviors.
JoAnn Westbrook, the founder of the Education Institute and its Director, explains: “We could not think of a more meaningful way to celebrate this Institute’s 10 year existence than to bring America’s most brilliant dementia care educator Teepa Snow to the Sarasota community and caregivers. Anyone affected by Vascular Dementia, whether they themselves have been diagnosed or a person in their care, knows the challenges that can occur when one is living with this particular type of dementia. And engaging professional care staff to abandon their old habits to learn more compassionate and effective care techniques requires trainers to advance from supervisors to coaches, a task that can be difficult for some. These seminars will be filmed and made available on video at a later time, to help Teepa Snow’s techniques become the new standard of care in healthcare facilities worldwide.”
