Pines of Sarasota Education & Training Institute Presents a Complimentary Webinar on Dementia and Driving
Sarasota, FL 34236 (PRWEB) September 13, 2016 -- Pines of Sarasota Education & Training Institute will present a no-cost 30 minute webinar about “Dementia & Driving – Strategies for a Successful Conversation” on October 18th, from 2:00 to 2:30pm EST.
The webinar will be presented by JoAnn Westbrook, a certified “Positive Approach to Care” (PAC) trainer of Teepa Snow’s “Positive ApproachTM” methods, licensed Nursing Home Administrator with over 30 years of experience and Director of Education at Pines.
Attendees will learn effective strategies and respectful approaches to make it easier for a person living with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia to give up driving for good.
“People associate driving with a sense of freedom and independence, and giving that up is very difficult for most,” JoAnn Westbrook explains. “It’s no different for a person living with dementia. But as a person’s cognitive and visual abilities decline with dementia, they can endanger themselves and others by continuing to drive. This webinar will offer families strategies to better navigate this difficult conversation.”
Webinar access is strictly limited, and anyone interested is encouraged to sign up as soon as possible. To register, please visit https://www.pineseducation.org/free-webinar-dementia-driving-strategies-for-a-successful-conversation/
