Pioneer Waterproofing Give Back to the Community with Their Helping Homes Foundation
Toronto, ON (PRWEB) June 30, 2014 -- This foundation aims at helping those in the community who are dealing with unsafe or dangerous living conditions. The foundation is currently working with families in the Hamilton-Wentworth/Halton/Peel region who own their home but have been unable to make major repairs due to any number of reasons.
The Helping Homes Foundation was the idea of Ray Paiement, owner of Pioneer Waterproofing. While it’s only just began its work, the foundation already has a board of directors who is working directly with those in the area to find eligible families. The foundation has a number of partner businesses on board, including Pioneer Waterproofing, Pioneer Geotech, Fairway Building Supply Inc., and Hamilton Builders’ Supply. The companies will donate time, money, and materials for the housing repairs and renovations.
The board of directors of Helping Homes is currently looking for families to serve. There are no hard and fast guidelines. Families who want to apply will need to complete an application that includes explaining their situation and hardship and the issues that need done. They will also need to list any health issues they and their family members may have. While it’s not a requirement, the foundation particularly wants to assist families with children or seniors living in the home.
Pioneer Waterproofing will be assisting families with waterproofing their basements and protecting their foundations from water damage. This can involve doing anything from structural repair to the foundation to waterproofing a finished basement. The company is prepared to install sump pumps to remove water from the home and install things such as their Piering System to make foundations structurally sound again.
One of the major focuses of the Helping Homes Foundation is about health and healthy living. To that end, Pioneer Waterproofing will be taking a hard look at any area of the home that could be a hazard. When water gets into floors and walls, it can promote the growth of mold and mildew. This can quickly lead to breathing difficulties that, in some cases, may remain with a person for the rest of their lifetime. The company plans on removing any mold found and on installing air purifiers to help reduce the effects the mold has on the air in the home.
