Pipe Bursting Technology Firm, TRIC Tools, Trains Carone & Company On a Sewer Rehabilitation Project in Lafayette, CA
Alameda, CA (PRWEB) July 21, 2013 -- TRIC Tools, a Pipe Bursting trenchless technology company, sold its first mainline pipe bursting system to Carone & Company in May 2013. Carone & Company is an Excavation and Paving Contractor of Concord, CA. Carone & Company recently won a public bid for upgrading Sanitary Sewers in Contra Costa County. On Tuesday, July 9th and Wednesday July 17th, TRIC worked with Carone on Equipment Safety, proper setup and cribbing of the pipe bursting equipment.
TRIC’s Robert Ding, Mechanical Engineer, and Bob Grenier, Municipal Sales Director, trained the Carone team on setting up TRIC’s M50 Pipe Bursting system inside a manhole. Prior to the manhole setup, Mr. Grenier went over the new equipment which included the GF Connectra 28 Close Quarters fusion machine. This Pipe Fusion Machine welds polyethylene pipe sizes from 2" through 8". "The M50 worked really well inside the manhole, even though the manhole was a tight fit and the hydraulic puller came close the manhole wall," Mr. Ding commented.
The project is the 8th phase of a major pipe rehabilitation project in Central Sanitation District of Contra Costa County. The project covers the cities of Concord, Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda, Richmond and Martinez. The Pipe Bursting portion of the rehab project in Lafayette takes place in backyard easements. Lafayette also used Horizontal Direction Drilling (HDD) and Open Cut replacement. On the July 17th training, a 6" sewer pipeline was increased to 8" with the pipe being inserted below two 6" pipelines and a 2" gas line. The TRIC system enables the contractor to easily transport and assemble the equipment in the pulling pit, since the pipe bursting was in backyard easements this was essential. The equipment is modular and assembly takes a few minutes to complete.
"Lloyd Carone really took a lot care and detailed investigation when buying the M50," said Gregg Abbott, Director of Sales. "Both Michael (Lien) and I enjoyed taking Lloyd through some of our PowerPoint presentations highlighting some challenging high profile training jobs on the east coast and in Japan," Abbott continued. TRIC looks forward to a long relationship with Carone & Company.
